I especially value the part where you say community is not a product we can buy off the shelf; it is something we build. And not to expect it to be convenient! That we need to show up even when it's inconvenient.
I intended to watch a couple of minutes and then come back if it pulled me in, but I was instantly gripped and watched the full vodcast. Thank you, as always, for articulating what my heart feels. Now I need to watch the full film x
Thank you for the transcript and for sharing the interview, Jody. I listened to your discussion yesterday on Wise Woman..Forward.
I've just finished watching the film. I've taken so many notes! — the names of people I need to read more about, like Diane L Rosenfeld. I have several emotions and thoughts I'll share on their website. But mostly, THANK YOU, Christopher and Dominique!
Thank you, Jody, for this interview and for introducing me to their work. I feel blessed that we're connected, and I'm grateful for your NoMo Crone Wisdom and Big Sis articulate insights.
I loved this "Actually, when oestrogen partially or completely leaves the building, you’re not really that impressed by guys most of the time anymore. I feel more like I did before puberty, which is like, “Boys? Yeah. What are they for?”"
....."But the idea that I arrange my life to conform to their opinion? I’m just like, “Wow, that was a 45-year detour. I’m glad that’s over.”
Thanks Vicky! I'm going to watch the film again, after editing the transcript I'd love to dive back into the content again. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
